Vertical Garden Wall

Our neighborhood has it’s share of green thumbs, I even know a Master Gardener or two…so one of my simple pleasures includes cruising around in the summer to see what everyone has been up to in their gardens.

It is with true delight that I stumbled across this amazing vertical garden wall.  Check it out, the first shot gives you the angle and perspective that this actually is  an upright garden:

Little holes made for plants, with a sheath of felt in the front, that’s pretty camouflaged from a distance.  Brilliant!

I swoon over the array of textures, the succulents, the grasses, the colors, the spacial and creative wonder of it!

I did some quick research to see if there are any companies that support this kind of design and found The Green Head.  How divine is this “living wall” to grow herbs right in your own kitchen?

Can you say “spoiled” being able to pluck a few fresh herbies just a few steps away from prepping a meal?  What could be better?

The Sunday Bag

Are you a big bag gal like me?

And by “big” I mean, “big fan,” “big in size,” …pretty much every since of the word.   I think I could fit my three year old in this one…and still have room for other things!

Sooo….I could hardly contain my excitement in coming across The Sunday Bag, by Boulevard Bags that I just ordered at my favorite local boutique, Canopy Blue.

Choose your color of leather (I chose Mango) for the handle and front pouch AND it can be personalized with your monogram or initials (you choose the font too).

This would be the perfect overnight bag if you just need a bathing suit, toothbrush and a few items, but I plan to use mine as my summer every day bag.


I’ve died and gone to heaven well almost, it’s not quite mine yet, they are warming up the monogram machine and she’ll be mine in a few short days.  Oh, and very reasonable price point too, $143 and no shipping.  Yippee!

I Like Naps

This dude cracked me up, walking the streets of a Seattle  flea market.

Not the dude looking straight at me (“like why in the hell are you taking a picture of us?”), but the dude behind the dude…See his T shirt, “I Like Naps”?

I mean really, who doesn’t???  Well, maybe my kids sometimes.

Summer White

If one thing is for certain, summer is fleeting…maybe that’s what makes it so sweet.

And maybe that’s why wearing white is so irresistible right now.

I can’t stop wearing white, like this little J.Crew frock (final sale for 69.99 less 30%, math was never my thing) with fun black & white tie to cinch the waist.  Too good of a deal to pass up.  Oh this dress is also featured in the latest People mag. style issue.

And couldn’t resist this little basket weave clutch, also J.Crew final sale for $39.99 less an additional 30% off (again, please you do the math, regardless–this is must have.)

And what about some teal colored nails (on trend or trashy?).  I think it’s modern and super summery, but must admit scrubbing off before a somewhat conservative business meeting this morning.

And finally some funky red and turquoise jewelry to finish the outfit.  Gold and turquoise bracelet with the dangles, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and a few cheapies from the BP section of Nordies. Ohh,  I almost forgot about the turquoise feather earrings, more funky fun, also from BP.

Now is your moment, seize it!  Wear white, and sundresses, and seersucker and espadrilles, and basket weave while you still can…

Family is “Cool”

Perhaps one of the best families for living this out would be none other than The Novogratz clan with their 7 children, amazingly creative design business, Sixx Design, and all around cool vibe…

I am literally drooling over this rug they designed.  Black and white always works and the sentiment is truly what it’s all about.

Bravo (not the network their new show will air on, they are moving to HGTV) for pulling it off in a non-trite manner.

I am literally counting down the moments till their new show on HGTV premiers on Saturday, July 16, at 10 p.m. ET/PT

Mark your calendars or DVR’s….

P.S. My family is pretty darn cool too.
