Missoni Fall Harvest Table

Call me Cuckoo Crazy, but I’m still not done with my Missoni stuff.  It’s time to get a fall table motif on…

Doesn’t this color palette just scream Fall?  “FALL!” (that’s me screaming!)

The felt looped pillows are a textural delight, after all, your guests deserve a soft landing.

Coordinating runner, seasonally updated apothecary jars filled with miniature pumpkins (oh and another one filled with candy corn that didn’t make the shot)  and harvest loosely assembled gourd centerpiece.

Now what’s for dinner?

By the way, I’m fully expecting a Missoni intervention one of these days soon, until then, I’m gonna keep goin’.

This Weekend at the Market

Spies and helpers visited some markets last weekend on my behalf,  took some shots and reported back.

Fall is a time for chili’s and roasting chili’s

These remind me of living in Colorado when the air this time of year was filled with the smell of roasting chili’s.  Try this yummy recipe for Roasted Chili and Portabello Mushroom Quesadillas.

And look at the beets, kale, carrots on deck all waiting to be whopped up into some fall comfort food.

Little chefs back on the home front stirring the Mirepoix.  Bon Appetit, now we may eat.

Bright Urban Family Photo Session

Inspired by this amazing art installation near where we live–

(don’t you just love the vibrancy?)

and sunshine on a glorious fall day.  My fam. headed out for a photo session with a friend, thanks K.L.! One of these is VERY likely to be our holiday (Maybe it sounds early, but most sites offer significant discounts for early birds and it’s one thing off the list, bonus!  Check out Minted 20% off through today) card this year.

Here I am cruisin’ along on my crutches, ironically not long after this on my way up to my house, I fell for the first time on my crutches.  Ugh, and multiple expletives later…now I’m back on the couch.  Back to slow and steady.

Anyways, READY

SET

GO!

Hope your week is filled with inspiration too.

TGIF

Looking forward to some fun jailbreaks this weekend.  Please don’t rain, please don’t rain, please don’t rain.

Enjoy!

Humility

The definition of humility is: The quality or condition of being humble.

These past 6 weeks have been, at the very least, a demonstration in this.

Image: Grandpa & Granddaughter on playground playing with their shadows.

Surprises and kindness in such bounty including books and blankets and flowers and magazines (I received 3 copies of the same Sept. issue of encyclopedia- sized Vogue) and meals, and cards and baked goods and drivers and people coming by to lend support or an ear…and so many more acts of consideration and true thoughtfulness than can be named here.

I’ve battled with feelings of guilt for those in my inner circle who, for better or worse, I feel close enough to and safe enough with to let them know how I really feel (the pain, the ugliness and more).  And other emotions all over the board from frustration by missed opportunities and fun, (like this weekend when I was supposed to be with my gals among the palm trees); disappointment by those who “just don’t get it” for lack of better way to put it and worry about sooo many things that are now out of my control.

Those feelings of never being able to give back quite enough in exchange for all that people have done to help me, like M, D, & R and my dear A. who have stopped their lives or at a minimum paused them to come and help.

But I do see the world a little differently now and I am without question learning about HUMILITY.
