Food Obsession Du Jour

Food Obsession Du Jour=Burrata It’s FRIDAY. We have the world’s most special house guests with us. So of course, need to bring some culinary big guns to the table. First up tonight. Cava (they are on a big kick having just returned from Spain, and it turns out will work perfectly with cutting the richness of the cheese) & Burrata Crostinis. Our version of “happy hour” in the garden. Granted, I’ve never met a cheese I don’t like, but burrata is on another level. I’m sure you familiar, but if not, we’re talkin’ fresh italian cheese, the outer portion is…

Cinderella’s Slipper? No, but pretty rad shoes!

I love shoes and who doesn’t love giving back? This is why I’m really crushing on Toms Shoes right now. Plus, how totally cute are these wedges? Don’t own yet, but will shortly after this post… They are trendy, but comfy and eco-friendly to boot. Oh and the price point is pretty reasonable too. The wedges are $64, I believe. Carried @ Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. Here’s the story, for every pair of shoe a consumer buys, the company donates a pair of shoes for a child in a 3rd world country. Tuesdays are for Fashion Shows

Among Seattle’s prime time bragging rights is being home to lovely Nordstrom. Today I was lucky enough to attend a fashion luncheon that Nordstrom hosted to celebrate local arts funder, PONCHO. 30 of us gathered to soak up some fall designer couture (even though summer just seemed to start today, ahhh the irony, but I am so not complaining). Check out the photos by Team Photogenic (password: lunch) Think classic looks and lines, military, perfectly tailored pants, sweaters, jackets, lacy floral dresses and of course, boots. What an inspiration. There were so many looks that I loved, by such long-standing…

How Do I Love Thee, Target…?

Let me count they ways! I love/hate this “new economy” in so many different ways. The silver lining of this post is super accessible fashion, a la that favorite red Bulls-eyed store, a.k.a Target (if you pronounce the t at the end silently, it sounds fancier!) What brilliant marketing strategy to provide couture for the masses? 1. Zac Posen, for Target Check it out, wish I could provide a pic., but I think the designs are pretty protected, as he is such a damn genius. Clip of Zac Love love love the two piece ruffled frock. Here we go Sex…
