Fabulous Fall Jackets

I remember not so long ago promising a post on jackets. Well, here you have it. Like boots, jackets are my favorite wardrobe essential, because you can be wearing nothing special at all, throw on a fabulous jacket and voila, you look dressed– and ready–and then some. You may have noticed I like posting things in threes. 3 of my favorite fall jackets for now: #1.) Madewell says you have to have a shrunken cropped jacket, like this one called the “Diana” and designed by Alexa Chung (a very current purveyor of all things “cool” right now) for Madewell #2)…

Best thing about Fall?

Boots. OK, there are many wonderful aspects of Fall, but best thing about Fall fashion? Boots. I love em. If I had to narrow my wadrobe investments, they would fall into 2 categories: great boots and great jackets. (You almost don’t need much else to make a statement). Stay tuned for an awesome jacket post. These are my favs. right now. #1. Classic riding style. How cute are these camel (also favorite leather hue of the moment) colored ones? Found at Hayden-Harnett. #2. Edgy, very “now” rocker look found at Piperlime and by Steve Madden. #3 Classic in another way….

Singing in the Rain

After the super soaking of September (say that 3 times fast, I dare you!) we’re currently experiencing, you pretty much have to. Or you’ll lose your marbles. And whoever said that Seattle-ites don’t use umbrellas, as it’s usually just a “light mist,” is lying. Thank goodness there is a silver lining. Bella Umbrella outfits our soggy sect marvelously. Check out the cute Ballard (the ceiling reminds me of Chihuly glass like hung at the Bellagio) storefront, and if you’re not in the area, they have a wonderful Website choc. full of their unique creations. My favorite, favorite one is the…

More is More

This weekend we saw the movie, The Kids are All Right starring Annette Benning and Julianne Moore (who is consistently in my line up of famous folks I would die to have at an imagined 10 person celebrity dinner party). I loved this movie, on so many levels. And haven’t really stopped thinking about it since. It was funny, poignant and relevant. There were so many jewels of wisdom to glean from this flick, about parenting, relationships, marriage and more. One of those was a comment made by Julianne Moore a new landscape designer suggesting the design concept of a…

Vintage is so “Ma-jer”

So the countdown is on…T minus 5 days until NYC Fashion Week. I have a love/hate relationship with Rachel Zoe. OK, not true; it’s a love/love relationship…her vernacular is so addicting! So if you want to look cool at the shows, or if you want to pretend like me, that you are there. Wear a touch of vintage paired with something modern. Where, might you ask to find vintage, how about some of RZ’s NYC vintage favorites like: What Goes Around Comes Around New York. Where you can find vintage Chanel and more… Or Chelsea Girl for cool “baubles” like…
