June in January

Last night some gal pals and I checked out fun Madrona neighborhood spot, June.

I immediately feel in love with the eclectic and chic interior, like the concrete strip on the walls. Gray is my favorite hue these days, as accent colors just pop with it, like these fun grassy green chairs.

I could have literally ordered one of everything from the menu. The burger, mouth watering.

We also noshed on a fabulous octopus appetizer served with pickled fennel, squash tempura bathing in some garlicy aioli, a delicious baguette served with cr

Bringer of Light

Apparently, the definition of the word Lucca is “bringer of light”.

No wonder that this very special boutique, Lucca in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard literally lights me up.

The vintage chandeliers especially. Oh my. Yes, we’ve finally replaced nearly all the generic lighting in our house, but a girl can always enjoy some extra bling bling in the form of lighting. I’m just sayin’…

So many treasures to be found here, this Parisian inspired spot is just what the Doctor ordered for an afternoon of quiet discovery.

This is a place to stock up on special cards and stationery.

And as the days SLOWLY get lighter, I dream of the garden inspirations to come from a visit to their super special garden atrium

I did after all notice a grouping of snowdrop flowers in my courtyard this morning

Living Well 7 Turns One!

That's right, a year ago today I started this puppy! My husband sort of challenged me with a collection of some different journals and magazines to use as inspiration around Christmas last year. I composed 7 posts on my various "passions" collected in this blog, and then began sharing with the world.

I hoped to write 100 posts in all within the first year, and almost got there. (The goal was a little random anyway).

I'm currently reading a book called, God Never Blinks by Regina Brett (who hails from one of my old stomping grounds). This book is about 50 Lessons in Life, I recommend it. This author rawly shares so much. Ironically just finished #18, "A Writer is Someone Who Writes. If You Want to Be a Writer. Write."

And so that's what I did.

I've observed so much. I've learned so much. I've interpreted so much. Sharing and writing has has been a true joy.

Thanks for reading, thanks for checking in, thanks for commenting, thanks for caring.

I look forward to expanding this site, with enhanced design and more.

The ideas, they are a brewin', so stay tuned.

Thank you for reading Living Well 7, Don't wait, Enjoy Life!

Marvelous Mud Rooms

Doesn’t the start of a New Year put your organizational sprockets into over-drive? Oh how, I just want to walk around my house with a big garbage bag and de-clutter and figure out better “systems” for just about everything!

Living in Seattle, a room that I now pine for in my “dream home” someday, is the Mud Room (this one below would be especially appropriate for us, with the black furry friend and all!).

Yes, I suppose it is because things do tend to get a little muddy this time of year. Or maybe it’s this stage of life, with the back packs (and black labs) and the coats and the multiple sets of wellies seeming to multiply or explode depending upon the day.

Check out some of my dream Mud Room designs, like the one below (doesn’t black and white always just work?), wouldn’t you just die to have a shelf/ledge dedicated to your various “sunnies” (a.k.a. sun glasses), like this below?:

Or a softer white washed look:

Or this ultra tailored, gorgeous version, that caters to the Equestrian’s in your home:

Oh look, it’s another black furry friend! I’m sensing a theme here. Wish ours would lay down and chill like that!

I suppose it’s something to strive for…some day perhaps we will have a room dedicated to containing the mud and the clutter. Dare to dream, I know! Of course, as I get ready to hit the “publish” button, it is now sunny. My plans for a Mud Room can wait another day.

Favorite New Accessory

I am so not a “Gadget Girl”, which is why I’m surprising even myself that I’m still on clouds with my new MacBook Air. It is by far my favorite new accessory of the season.

It’s so light and airy, hence the name:) I love the screen, the vibrancy of the colors–I love so much about it. I have to say, I’m glad I wasn’t tempted by the IPad yet, as this is almost as small with 100X the functionality.

To counter balance the gadget techy-ness of it, I needed to order something handmade to cart it around. LOVE the cover I just ordered on Etsy: I’m sure you all frequent this site, All things handmade, heck yeah! Plus the options on Etsy were SO MUCH more stylish than anything else I searched.
