Books as Design Elements
I realize we are all soooo into everything “digital” these days. Sigh. And I may just be the last on the planet to read a book on a Kindle, sorry Amazon friends. But, “real” books are just too good for too many reasons to name.
For the sake of this post, let’s focus on books as design elements. Love books in decor as we all have them–so if you’re feeling a little “decor-poor” use something you already have for an instant refreshed look. Like these pseudo end tables below.
And look how orderly and appealing this collection of books appear when organized according colors of the ROY G. BIV (ahhh acroynyms from school days.)

Talk about a fun project to release some O.C.D. with a super visually appealing outcome. Now, to just procure some wonderful white built-ins like these. See (future) Dream House post…
Onto these next two images taken from a book I was just given called UNDECORATE by Christiane Lemieux–Check out this “undone” look, though equally as sophistocated in my book (ha ha). Take a gander below.
I’m obsessed with the beauty of these book stacks acting as pillars or a simple perch for these classic blue hydrangeas.
I also super into this next little vignette for the drama factor.
So…I’ve got some Great Expectations (can’t resist the book puns!) of the remixing possibilities! How about you?
